SIX x SIX was an experimental pop-up art exhibition curated by Marrow Collective featuring 30 artists and over 160 pieces. Our aim was to connect the audience directly with the artists. Every piece measured six inches by six inches and sold for $50 a piece. Our goal was to level an otherwise expensive market, giving viewers a chance to own original work and giving great artists an opportunity to share.
Many of our chosen creators did not know each other, purposefully so. We hoped to strengthen our community of artists by bringing them all together, devoid of any standing they have in their profession. To achieve this, we had all artists sign the back of their pieces. This way, all purchases were solely based on both personal aesthetic, as well as the narrative our audience created for the work.
Once again, you have all continued to blow us away with your continued support. Well over 1,000 of you attended the show, buying out all of our early bird tickets within a few days. We managed to sell all but a few of the pieces we had on display, with 100% going right back to the artists (with many donating a portion of what they earned). All other funds raised were given directly to Rogue Retreat, a nonprofit assisting local, homeless adults transition to a more stable environment. We were impressed by the impact their facility has had on the homeless population and are excited to be able to help the great people behind this cause.
We are artists pushing to create an environment for the things we love, for you all to support that means so much to us.
